Scott Nelson Retires After 34 Years at DJR

We would like to congratulate Scott Nelson, Principal, on his newest endeavor – his retirement! Scott has been with DJR for 34+ years and has been responsible for over 1,000 projects, many of which are the firms most visible and award-winning. One of Scott’s biggest accomplishments in his 22 years as a Principal was helping to hire an amazing and talented staff, creating a lasting legacy. These outstanding employees and Scott’s down-to-earth leadership qualities helped contribute to the exponential growth the firm has seen, especially in the past 5 years.

While many of Scott’s projects were located in the Twin Cities, some of his favorites to work on were in his hometown of Fargo, ND. Among these is the 300 Broadway building which includes the Fargo Theatre small screen annex. Also high on his list were the many breweries that the firm worked on, most notably the Fulton Brewery located in the North Loop. Many Friday afternoon happy hours were spent enjoying the fruits of the relationships developed by Scott through his years of service with the firm.

When it is safe again, Scott plans to go to LOTS of baseball games – his bucket list includes attending a game at every major ballpark in the US! You will also see Scott out on one of his numerous bikes visiting brewpubs, taking care of his puppy Maddie, and eventually getting back to traveling with his family. We will forever be grateful for Scott’s immense talent, skills and leadership, and we wish him all the joy and happiness he deserves in his retirement!
