Miro Apartments

Miro Apartments is a 7 story, multi-family building of concrete and wood-frame modular construction. A double height lobby space anchors the building at the corner of Glenwood Ave. and Fremont Ave., just north of the vibrant, La Doña Cervecería Brewery. The building massing forms an L-shape at the corner, holding a small new soccer field on the inside corner to be used by the Brewery to hold soccer games.

The first two stories of the building are tilt-up, precast concrete panel construction. These hold the lobby amenity, leasing offices, conference room, fitness, bike storage, leasable commercial space, parking and four walk-up loft units. The concrete podium supports 5 levels of wood frame, modular construction that make up 123 units, a clubroom, and a roof deck. This project offers a wide range of unit types including lofts, studios, alcoves, one-bedroom and two-bedrooms.

The exterior material palette is comprised of brick and glass storefront at the base and metal panel and fiber cement lap siding cladding the modules. A mix of warm greys, browns, black and white create a timeless finish. One wing of the building is a lighter brown wood tone, the other wing a darker wood tone. The knuckle in the middle where they meet is a black mass that wraps around the top floor at the roof deck.

The interior concept is design for the people. The Harrison neighborhood has a strong community, and we want our interiors to accommodate their needs while also being a fresh addition to the neighborhood. A sleek and modern foundation of exposed concrete and medium wood tones provides a clean slate to layer bright pops of color, dimensional texture, and vibrant greenery. Eclectic art with big personality is the last touch that gives this project a playful energy. The final product is a community hub that is both time-less and youthfully charged.
