Northern Warehouse Artist Lofts

The Northern Warehouse Artist Lofts in the Lowertown neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota was built in 1908 and has been on the national register since the early 2000s.  The work performed for this project involved several main components, each with a strict adherence to the standards of historic renovation.

The windows were replaced as a main component of this work.  The replacement of most of these very large windows, that had been replaced previously, brought much needed energy efficiency and operability while staying in kind with the original character of the building.  There were several original windows that were very carefully repaired and refurbished.

The exterior facades of the building, which are all brick, had tuck pointing work done during this process.  Special care was taken to determine which of the multiple mortar types found on the building was the original color and pointing type.
